I'm trying to maintain my business's account balance and transaction history in quickbooks by manually importing the.qbo file. I successfully imported my transactions as a.qbo file from bank of america a few months ago. So when I go to 'Downloaded Transactions', I see them all, and the account dropdown at the top says 'Bank of America'. But now I'm trying to update these transactions by importing another.qbo file containing all transactions since the last import. I click 'import file' and select the file. Just be sure you are bringing the downloaded transactions into the correct account. I find this issue usually occurs with credit card downloads - as in credit card accounts that have more than one credit card (eg, one master and several sub accounts) associated with them. I'm having the same problem with QB2016 for Mac. The ACCTID is the same as my actual account.

The problem 'might' be that when I look at the Online Settings, the account number for my card is somehow no longer the correct number. But there is no option to edit that. So, the account numbers in Edit Account and Online Settings don't match. It seems like a mistake to edit the account to be this incorrect account number, but I suppose I could do that. How did that Online Setting account number change to a random, incorrect number? All my other accounts import properly. The way Account Numbers are used will vary by the financial institution.

For instance, you have a checking account # and Routing # info, but if you sign up for ACH or direct deposit, they might have you use a different Routing Number for that type of electronic activity. And 'online account' might be a Web Access Rights # for the username you log in with, as in my case, and then it pulls info from that one bank for Two Connected Accounts. And the Financial institution's Website log in you use on their site might be a different log in name and password than you are suppose to use for inter-connected tools like using QB.
