As of September 8, 2016, the SteamOS and Mac versions of Rocket League® were released to 'Beta.' SteamOS is the only 'officially' supported Linux client, though other Linux platforms may be compatible. Psyonix has just announced that Rocket League has sold 1 million copies on Steam alone. To celebrate, Psyonix announces that Rocket League is coming to Steam OS and Mac later this year (source) And if that isn't good enough for you, Rocket League is also 10% off on Steam for the next 48 hours.

Rocket League continues to cement itself as one of 2015's biggest breakout games. In addition to getting a slew of players on PlayStation 4 through its monthly PlayStation Plus frebie lineup, Valve has announced that the game has sold more than one million copies on Steam since its release in early July.

To celebrate this announcement, Valve has announced that Psyonix's driving/sports hybrid will expand further, with a Mac and SteamOS version of the game now in the works. In fact, Psyonix and Valve are sweetening the latter pot by announcing that the game will come free for anyone that has pre-ordered any Steam Hardware.

This includes Steam Machines, Steam Link, or the Steam Controller. For those that already own Rocket League, they will receive an extra copy of the game to gift to a friend.

PlayStation 4 and Steam users can already play Rocket League with one another and with SteamOS and Mac also coming under the same Steam umbrella, it's expected that those two versions can also play nice with each other.
