It was my first time at the event, so I was curious to see what it had to offer in the beauty and fashion tech markets. As I wandered the isles, most of what was on view were new social media apps, travel apps, home security apps, and of course, Augmented Reality Television, but I was able to find a few beauty apps in the mix that are real standouts. The following companies are in the process of bringing some great new products your way, so keep watch. Zymolo Inc.: If you’re looking for the next big thing in skin care, check out Zymolo, which is a biotech company from Taiwan that works with probiotics and fermentation to treat over 8 skin issues including acne. How it works: The probiotic bacteria destroy the bacteria causing your skin disorder.

No more creams that give out false promises. The company currently offers Prebiotics whose fermented fatty acids promote skin health. Their probiotic formulas are pending FDA approval. Shisheido: Shisheido is far from a start-up, but with their recent acquisition of Bare Minerals, they’ve upped their game yet again with their Made-2-Fit foundation app. It samples your unique skin tone via your phone, and sends the information to a lab where they mix a foundation that exactly matches your coloring. Each bottle you order comes within a week and arrives personalized with your name on it.

Experchat brings the ease and convenience of a beauty or styling expert into your home 24/7. It’s kind of like Fivrr but for beauty advice.

Simply search, read a review, pick, agree to a price and start working with your expert make-up artist or stylist. All the experts are carefully vetted and come with a full profile so you can pick the person who is the best fit for you. The company is a new start-up by Avi Hoffer who helped create Poshmark. Gasefi: Gasefi aims to do what words can’t when it comes to searching for the perfect outfit or shoes by providing a visual search interface. Sure you can type in “red pumps” to Google or Amazon, but as any fashionista knows, there are hundreds of variations on red pumps. To use Gasefi, you click on the color you want, then on the type of shoe (high heel, boot, sneaker) and then click on a picture of the exact heel height and style you want, and presto!

You have the exact pair of shoes you were looking for instead of spending hours flipping through the thousands of options that come up with normal word searches. To facilitate, they have pictures of almost every heel type imaginable. As someone who burns out on shopping pretty quickly, this app sounds like a real time saver. Pinker: Tattoo lovers will adore Pinker, a hand-held printer that creates instant temporary tattoos.
